Simple, like a well-run list.

Everyone starts the same way: sign up, no credit card, three months of everything. After that, specialists subscribe — and trainees, fellows, and clinicians in low-income countries carry on free.

1. Sign up

Everyone signs up the same way — no credit card, no plan picker, no sales call. Just an email address and you’re logging cases.

2. Use everything for 3 months

Every feature, unlimited cases, the lot. We’ll remind you well before the three months are up.

3. Then pick your path

Vocationally registered specialists subscribe. Trainees, fellows, and clinicians in low-income countries send us evidence of eligibility and keep using Surgibud free.

Every feature. No asterisks.

Trainees & registrars

In an accredited surgical training programme? Send us evidence — a training confirmation letter or college enrolment — and Surgibud is free for the whole of training.

Fellows

Pre-vocational and post-fellowship positions qualify too. A letter of appointment is plenty. Free until you gain vocational registration.

Low-income countries

Practising in a country on the World Bank low-income list? Surgibud is free, forever. Evidence of your practising location is all we need.

Sign up — same door as everyone

Use Surgibud free for 3 months, then email your evidence to support@surgibud.com.

Money questions, answered

How does the 3-month free period work?

Sign up and use everything — every feature, unlimited cases — for three months, with no credit card required. Before the period ends we will email you. To keep using Surgibud you then either subscribe, or send evidence that you qualify for free use (trainee, fellow, or low-income country). If you do neither, your data stays safe, read-only, and exportable.

What currency am I charged in?

All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD): $49 per month or $499 per year. Local taxes such as GST are additional. Checkout and billing are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.

What counts as evidence of eligibility for free use?

Anything reasonable that shows your training post, fellowship, or practising location — a college enrolment confirmation, a letter of appointment, or a hospital email is usually plenty. Email it to us and we will switch your account to the free plan, typically within a day.

What happens when I finish training?

Congratulations! When you gain vocational registration, let us know (or we may check in) and your paid subscription starts from there. Your logbook carries straight over — nothing to migrate.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in two clicks from the billing portal. Your logbook remains exportable after cancellation — your cases are yours, always.

Is there a team or department plan?

Not yet — Surgibud is priced per surgeon. If your department wants to cover subscriptions centrally, email us and we will sort out consolidated invoicing.

Is the subscription tax deductible?

For most vocationally registered specialists in NZ and Australia, professional software subscriptions are deductible as a work-related expense — but please check with your accountant. We issue tax receipts.
