Surgibud has no fields for patient names, official patient numbers, or birth dates, and the terms of use prohibit entering them — cases are keyed by your own non-identifying codes. PROM contact details are AES-256-GCM encrypted and automatically deleted after use. Data is stored securely in Sydney, Australia, under NZ and Australian privacy law. You should tell patients to expect a follow-up survey, as part of your usual consent discussion. Every survey includes a one-tap opt-out that immediately and permanently deletes the patient’s contact details.

Notes you submit are processed by Anthropic’s API and are not used to train models. We advise removing patient identifiers before pasting — and Surgibud has nowhere to store identifiers even if they slip through.

Deletion is self-service and immediate. Clinical records are retained in cold storage only as long as health record retention law requires (10 years), then purged automatically with a compliance entry written to an append-only log.
